Today was part 2 of our tour outings for the week, and as a class we visited the National Portrait Gallery. We first walked through Trafalgar Square, and Andrew slowed down to give us time to take photos like the tourists we were. It was a nice day out, so the sky was definitely a wonderful blue!
We were all given a handout to complete and turn in at the end of the tour, sort of like a scavenger hunt for specific portraits and artistic displays. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take photos of anything inside the gallery.
The gallery closed an entire floor in the late afternoon. Apparently Kate Middleton was going to give a speech later in the evening! That definitely explains the paparazzi presence outside. We left the gallery at 4pm and were thinking of coming back, but ended up staying at home for dinner. We also missed the premiere of Monument Men – apparently George Clooney and Cate Blanchett were there!
