Today started off pretty great with a lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Cibo. I’ve been eating at the restaurant ever since it opened in Alabang with my family, and I’ve pretty much stuck to the same dishes each time (how boring, I know). I met up with Gio, Drea, and Esther to have lunch before our other friend Alix arrived, and the plan was to go to Enchanted Kingdom for the day before heading out to the Fort later tonight.
Because I still don’t have a phone I basically relied on Facebook to keep in contact with the group. Luckily Cibo had wi-fi so I was able to check on everyone’s replies. Once everyone had arrived and ordered, our meal started with an all-time favorite: Spinaci Zola with spinach and gorgonzola cheese.
While waiting for our main courses, Drea and I decided to order drinks instead of sticking to regular iced water. The result? My usual Uva Nera (Red Grape Shake) and Drea’s Iced Tea.
Funnily enough, everyone ended up ordering pasta for their main course. I went with my tried and true Spaghettini alla Bolognese made with Bologna-style beef ragu (and topped with a slice of tomato).
Drea ordered the Penne al Telefono with stewed tomato, mozzarella, white cheese, basil, and cream.
Esther went with the Rigatoni all ‘Alfonso with shrimps, chives, stewed tomato, chili peppers, and cream (by choice).
And finally, Gio ordered the Linguine alla Ghiotta, made with mushrooms, slab bacon, and cream.
Overall it was a delicious lunch, and after meeting up with Alix I was excited to head off and enjoy the amusement park rides at Enchanted Kingdom!
